đŽ Todayâs insights
Trump plans unified AI standard to end state rules
President Trump announced an executive order to establish a single national âOne Rulebookâ for AI. This move intends to preempt the growing patchwork of state-level regulations emerging in places like California and Colorado. This simplifies compliance for US businesses building AI tools. You will likely face one permissive federal standard instead of navigating 50 different state laws.
EU probes Google over publisher data usage
The European Commission launched an antitrust investigation into whether Google unfairly uses publisher content to train its AI models without compensation. This reinforces the growing regulatory split between the US and Europe. If you operate globally, be aware that AI tools may soon function differently in the EU versus the US due to data usage restrictions.
Anthropic acquires Bun runtime
Anthropic has acquired Bun, the ultra-fast JavaScript runtime, to optimize the infrastructure for its Claude Code product. While Bun remains open-source, this move allows Anthropic to tightly integrate the model (Claude) with the execution environment (Bun). This signals a shift to AI-native development. Agents donât just need to write code; they need a fast, stable environment to run and test it. Expect Claudeâs coding capabilities to jump significantly in speed and reliability.
Slack announces AI Employee roadmap
Slack confirmed that Salesforce Agentforce agents will be integrated directly into the chat interface by early 2026. This transforms Slack from a messaging app into a command center where you chat with your CRM to get work done. Prepare for a workflow shift. Instead of logging into Salesforce, your team will soon manage deals and run reports directly inside their team channels.
đĄ One rulebook vs. Brussels effect
In the US, the incoming administration is pushing a One Rulebook executive order to deregulate AI and preempt state laws. The goal is speed.
Meanwhile, the EU just launched an antitrust probe into Google and is doubling down on compliance.
For us, business owners, this creates a splinternet problem. You might think US deregulation gives you freedom, but if you have any international customers, you are likely subject to the Brussels effect.
The Brussels effect is where the strictest market (usually the EU) effectively sets the global standard because itâs too expensive for companies to maintain two different compliance stacks. We saw this with GDPR.
My advice: Donât build your AI strategy around the promise of US deregulation.
If you want a scalable, sellable asset, build to the stricter European standards for data privacy and transparency now.
Itâs future-proofing, not just compliance.

đŹ Community Q&A
Q: âI keep hearing about âAgentsâ but Iâm a small business owner. Should I be firing my support team?â
A: No. Agents like Ninjabot handle volume, not nuance. They are excellent at repetitive tasks, instant responses, and data entry. They fail at empathy and complex conflict resolution. The best move is to shift your support team to supervisors. Let the AI handle the 80% of routine tickets, and have your humans manage the AI and handle the difficult 20%. Elevate your team, donât terminate them.
